Children of Robert Lee HOVIOUS: More about Robert Hovious: "Robert taught 8 grades in a one-room schoolhouse prior to World War II. One of his more illustrious students was Henry Giles, later husband of Janice Holt Giles who wrote many books on Adair County including "40 acres & no mule." He spent World War II with the US Army Signal Corps, helping build a protective radar net around the western United States. Following his service he joined Ashland Oil and was their Western Kentucky area manager until his retirement. He represented Ashland for many years at the Kentucky Derby and was a lifelong avid golfer, hunter AND fishing expert. He wrote articles for such publications as 'Field and Stream'"
